The plan for this volume of the 'integral' recording of Bach's organ music is the same as that of the two previous volumes. Large scale concert pieces in the form of prelude and fugue serve as gates of entry and exit; in the middle stands an example of Bach's Lutheran, quasi-liturgical music for solo organ, flanked on one side by a 'pedagogic' work in the shape of a trio sonata, and on the other side by one of his metamorphoses for organ of instrumental music by another composer, in this case Vivaldi.
