Peter Daniels was commissioned by the Nimbus Foundation for the Performing Arts to produce a series of large paintings for the interior of its concert hall near Monmouth. The total size of the project was close to 2,000 square feet, making it the biggest art commission of the century in this country.
Sadly, Peter died on the 10th August, 1998. He had, however, completed enough of the project to make it possible for others to realise his intent. The murals were unveiled in May 2003, at the opening concert of the Wyastone 2003 Summer Series.
As he developed ideas for the project Peter painted many canvasses, complete works in their own right, which he used to refine his plans for the eventual paintings for the concert hall. Some of these are presented here, giving us at least a hint of what he had in mind.
