Marian Anderson is remembered not only for her beautiful, generous voice which prompted Toscanini to exclaim that a voice like hers was 'only heard once in a hunderd years', but also for her rare personal qualities. She has been described as 'queenly' and 'like a goddess' by those who saw her in person, and at the same time she was known for her tremendous warmth and humility. This second collection on Prima Voce consists of Lieder and Songs recorded between 1936 and 1946.
