Founded in 1977, the Bochmann Quartet performed on extensive international tours for more than a decade. During this period, it made over 50 BBC broadcasts and numerous recordings. Since being re-formed in 1990 the Quartet has performed very widely, at major and provincial venues, both at home and abroad; made many television, radio and festival appearances; given the first public concert in the British Museum; set up several new concert series in the provinces; championed contemporary English composers; and given a great number of master classes and workshops as well as intensive courses for young professional musicians.
Ivo-Jan van der Werff is the violinist in the highly acclaimed Medici Quartet.
