Emma Johnson, clarinet Another unique occasion at the Wyastone Summer Series; a joint appearance by three of the finest winners of the ‘BBC Young Musician of the Year’ competition. Emma Johnson is one of the few clarinettists to have established a busy international career as a soloist, performing in Europe, USA, Asia as well as in Africa and Australia and has appeared with most of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors. Natalie Clein made her concerto debt at the BBC Proms in 1997 with Sir Roger Norrington and the NYO. Her chamber music partnerships include such eminent musicians as Marta Argerich, Imogen Cooper, Stephen Isserlis and the Takacs Quartet. Leon McCawley leapt to international prominence following major prizes in the Vienna and Leeds Piano Competitions of the late 1990’s. As a recitalist and concerto player Leon has established himself at the head of Britain’s new generation of pianists.
