Summer Series 2003 - May 24th to August 9th

Barbara Bonney, Malcolm Martineau, Paco Peńa, Tasmin Little, Jeremy Menuhin, Emma Johnson, The Bochmann Quartet, Maria Callas, Natalie Clein and many more are visiting the third Wyastone Summer Series. This year's programme is broad ranging from Baroque, Symphonic, and Chamber music to light entertainment. We are introducing a Young Musicians Series and continue our World Music promotions.

Our idyllic setting on the banks of the River Wye make it the perfect venue to unwind and enjoy great music - Wyastone is the place to be this Summer, bring a picnic or enjoy a three course meal in the Grand Marquee.

The Schubert Symphony Cycle

As a main feature of the Series the ESO & William Boughton will perform all of the Schubert Symphonies in combination with four of Beethoven Piano Concertos. We also welcome Brian Newbould, one of the leading Schubert scholars to introduce this Series.

Young Musicians Series

In line with the aims of the Nimbus Foundation, and following the success of other youth performances we have introduced two concerts to the 2003 Summer Series from the Young Concert Artist Trust (YCAT) stable. At the beginning of their professional careers, when commercial management is extremely difficult to secure YCAT identifies nurtures and promotes young soloists and chamber musicians. Please do support these concerts as we are certain that you will be discovering some remarkable performers.

Entertaining & Catering

Creative Forest Foods of Lydney have been appointed as caterers to The Summer Series. This will ensure that excellent value hot and cold meals, sumptuous picnics and delicious deserts will be available before every concert and during the intervals. Table reservations can be made when booking concert tickets.
