Friday June 26th at 7.45 pm

Paul O’Dette, Fretwork & The Theatre of Voices

'Tears & Cries'
An Evening of music by Jacobean composers

This is an extremely rare event bringing together three outstanding performers and ensembles:

Paul O’Dette, the world’s pre-eminent lutenist
Fretwork, one of the UK’s leading baroque groups
Theatre of Voices, one of America's foremost vocal ensembles

Those of you who saw Shakespeare in Love will have enjoyed music by these composers in the film’s soundtrack. This evening will be one of the most moving experiences in music: a feast of music by the 17th century English composers Dowland, Gibbons and Dearing. Tears and Cries evokes the sounds of the City; the daytime bustle of London’s street-markets, tradesmen and river taxis, and of the Country; introducing us to a Breughelesque cast of bumpkins (beekeepers included!) inhabiting the Borsetshire of Shakespeare’s day.

This event will never be repeated, it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Don’t miss this concert.

Ticket Prices: £12.00 £16.50 £20.00 (Click here for hall layout diagram.)
