In 1963 Lord Yehudi Menuhin founded his famous school in England to provide the environment for musically gifted children to fully develop their musical potential. There are 61 pupils in the school, from the UK, France, Belgium, Ireland, Iceland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, USA, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Tunisia. Alongside their individual work the older pupils all take part in orchestral concerts - and this unique orchestra is much in demand. On their first visit to Wyastone in 2002 they played Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht with such skill and passion that it brought tears to peoples eyes. It has remained an enduring memory of the Summer Series. In this group of 38 players aged 14 to 19 are the brightest and most talented the world has to offer, and the stars of tomorrow.

Benny Goodman described Emma as 'a mighty fine clarinettist'.
