Be transported to the wild Scottish coast. A beautiful young woman is falsely accused of immorality and cast aside by her family and lover. Ariodante is a drama of Shakespearean intensity, each character sharply drawn in words and music. Handel’s rich, eloquent score, featuring some of his finest melodies, is a record of passionate love - be it innocent or cruel, religious or romantic. English Touring Opera performs in English, with a period orchestra and a distinguished cast to bring you Handel’s baroque classic.

This concert performance of Ariodante promises to be one of the highlights of the 2004 Series. The production was awarded four stars by The Times.
