YBS Band - the former Yorkshire Building Society Band - has for the last decade been the most successful of all contesting brass bands. It has also been amongst the most innovative with its highly acclaimed CDs and its concert projects, created through close collaboration between conductor and composers.
Under its principal conductor, professor David King, the band have, in the last decade, enjoyed unparalleled success and have consistently headed the World brass band rankings. They were British Open Brass Band Champions in 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003, the All England Masters Champions in 1999, 2000 and 2004 and European Champions in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001,2002, 2003 & 2004.
By blending tradition, innovation and musical excellence, YBS Band has undoubtedly established itself at the forefront in the world of brass bands today.
