Summer Series 2006, Concert 13
Saturday July 8th at 7.45 pm

Emma Johnson, clarinet
ConTempo String Quartet

Emma Johnson needs no introduction, having been at the forefront of musical life in the UK since entering our lives by winning the 1984 BBC Young Musician Competition. Emma has gone on to become one of the very few clarinetists to have established an international career appearing alongside the world’s leading orchestras and conductors.

For this visit to Wyastone she brings with her new partners, the Romanian ConTempo String Quartet, to perform the Mozart and Brahms quintets - the two greatest works in the clarinet repertoire.

"Emma Johnson walks onto a concert platform and suddenly transforms herself into an expressive instrument of sublime beauty." The Guardian 2005
