Birds, Beasts and Flowers is a selection of poems and some prose chosen to reflect the response of a number of poets and writers both American and English to different aspects of the world of nature. They come from various periods in literature with particular emphasis on compassion for all living things and the need to preserve so much of the world's wildlife.
