Review "This is one of the great string quartets and, like Schubert's "Death & the Maiden" quartet, would be an excellent introduction to chamber music in general. I have versions by the Emersons, Prague, the Cypress Q, Pavel Haas, Janacek and Talich Quartets in addition to this Wihan version. I've always felt the core of the quartet was the lento, 2nd movement. Here, it's heartbreakingly beautiful and gives it an edge over all the other versions I've heard. (The Cypress Quartet is a very close 2nd.)"-William S. Young
