The four Welsh folk songs in this set are drawn from The Faerie Bride, my cantata inspired by the Welsh myth of Lyn y Fan Fach. The following songs are weaved throughout the work but are presented here on their own. Since the Welsh verse doesn’t always naturally translate into English I’ve taken some creative license with the translations. They are collected from various sources –including some of my own translations - but I think are representative of the original.
