Herbert Ernst Groh 1931-1937

Herbert Ernst Groh was born in 1905 the son of a German father and Swiss mother living in Lucerne. His voice attracted attention at an early age, and he specialised in operetta from the outset and in 1929 commenced a career dominated by broadcasting and recording rather than on the stage. His recordings illustrate all facets of his art, and there are several instances where his choice of operatic material is unusual, and therefore not only vocally, but also musically very interesting.

Review "A little known tenor with the most beatiful voice. Another Nimbus exellent transfer. Lovely top notes reminiscent of early Tauber."- Harold Brian Lloyd
