Liszt 'Années de pèlerinage' Deuxieme année, Italie

Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage, (or Years of Pilgrimage) are divided into three books, the second including a brief supplement called Venezia e Napoli. As their collective title suggests the Annés reflect Liszt’s years spent journeying through Switzerland and Italy, with his mistress the Countess Marie D’ Agoult, where alpine magnificence, art and literature provided daily refreshment and stimulus.
