Mozart Opera for Flute and String Trio

Vienna in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries was home to some of the finest woodwind players of the day - players from far and wide, who had heard of the Viennese reputation for music, as well as those native to the city. Some of them had great careers as soloists; many of them sought employment at court or in church bands. Vienna became known as The Sonorous City’, and, more than any of its other musicians, it was its wind players that brought it this accolade.
