Palestrina Masses and Motets

Most of Palestrina’s 104 Masses were published in the series of twelve books initiated during his lifetime and completed after his death in 1594. The two presented on this recording survive only in manuscripts, in both cases complied for the use of choirs with which Palestrina was associated.
