Northumberland is one of England's most unspoilt and scenically beautiful counties. It is extremely rich in both its history and its living traditions, and this is especially true with respect to its traditional music. Northumberland is the only part of England with a local music-dialect in which certain melodies are distinct from the tunes of any other region. This disc features today's leading pipers and fiddlers recorded in private sessions over a weekend at Dunstan Hall, Northumberland, a favorite gathering place for musicians for many generations.
