Swedish Romantics: Eduard Brendler Ryno

Perhaps the first real Swedish opera from the nineteenth Century. Quite a Mozart-inspired work showing true craftsmanship. Completed by Prince Oscar, after the death of the composer. The singing is excellent - from both the chorus and the soloist. The diction is clear at all times. The orchestral balance is exactly right for this era. The CD itself is well produced. The sleeve notes are comprehensive and a joy to read.
